How I Do It (cont.)

My Process

With initial information and reference material (including any necessary online research) gathered, you’ll describe the project and let me know what you have in mind in terms of deliverables. (Email? Direct mail? Online banner ad? Print ad? Landing page? Video?)

We’ll discuss your timeframe. I’ll provide you with a tight project quote (which is what

you’ll pay, unless your project requires more than two rounds of revision). I’ll send you a 1-2 page proposal describing the project as I understand it and including its objectives, format, costs and terms (usually, I require a 50% down payment and the balance of my fee within 30 days of copy approval).

If that sounds relatively simple, it’s because it is. After all, we both want the same thing: a professionally designed and worded “business magnet” . . . and we both go rambling down the road feeling good . . . until next time.

Of course, there may be some “bumps” along the way, but you should know up front that I am 100% committed to keeping you as a satisfied, smiling and well served client. That’s why I include two rounds of revision in my quote (I’ll go beyond that if necessary, but then I’ll charge more). And that’s why most of my clients keep coming back (hint hint).

The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter – ‘tis the difference between the lightning bug and lightning.

I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.

If you want to succeed in today’s hyper-competitive marketplace, you need a high-caliber pro who can “tell and sell.” Alan has proven his ability to do just that, time and time again, and I could not recommend him more highly.
